Fish Hatchery - Hand Painted Study

My goal for this project was to explore and experiment with different techniques to create an environment with Hand-Painted texture. For the props I typically modeled and UVed them in Maya and then painted the textures in Substance Painter starting with painting in grayscale and then overlaying a color layer finishing off with a detail layer to add highlights and extra details. For tiling textures and trim sheets I would usually create a base to work from in Substance designer and then run it through photoshop to paint in the details. Beyond just practicing Hand painting this was also a chance for me to dig into many other aspects of unreal including Vertex material animation, riggind my frog with the control rig system, and creating some fun particle effects. I learned a lot from this project that I hope to use in my projects going forward.

Down the road if I come back to this project I hope to dive deeper into animation and get the Frogs moving around the scene. Additionally I would love to turn this scene into a simple Game with some fun fish raising mechanics.
